Acrylic Sculptured Nails are the original nail enhancement. First created by a dentist, Mr Fred Slack, in the 1950’s to mend a broken nail and then to overlay his wife’s weak nails. The product was then developed in the 1970’s by Dr Stuart Nordstrom into the liquid and powder system that it still used today.
Acrylic Sculptured Nails do not require any glue or plastic tips and, as the name suggests, are sculpted out from the natural nail to create length. They are without a doubt the strongest of all nail enhancements and are unbeatable for extreme lengths like stiletto and ballerina nails, but are as equally at home on short nails that need to put up with a lot of punishment.
Sculptured nails are individually created to match the free edge of the natural nail as opposed to a plastic tip that has one shape. For this reason they are ideal for corrective work on difficult nails, nail biters and damaged nails where the nail shape needs to be modified due to an irregular nail shape or growth pattern.
