Gel Nails cover an array of different products and applications. From a semi-permanent nail colour to an extended hard gel enhancement, gel nails offer the client many choices. Gel enhancements are ideal for short to medium length nails and can offer a gentler alternative on the nail plate to their robust acrylic cousin. Gel is also a good option for clients with more flexible, flimsy nails, as it is more flexible than acrylic and is able to bend with the movement of the natural nail.
The new generation of hard gels have also seen great improvements over the years and can now boast a similar strength to acrylic enhancements. Often used as an acrylic alternative for clients who are experience excessive lifting, they are scultpable and have a comfortable feel on the nail plate.
Also for sculpting, Polygel/Acrigel products are a hybrid of gel and acrylic that can be used to extend the length of a gel nail. They are a durable alternative to the conventional plastic tip/overlay technique.
New to the world of gel nails is the “Builder in a Bottle” system. This is the latest addition to the gel stable of products. It blends the softer application of gel with the flexibility of a gel polish. In addition, it can be teamed with full cover gel tips to create a longer nail without the need to sculpt.
